Crab Dip & Marinated Coleslaw

Jeff's grandmother used to make this crab dip every time we would visit. It always followed by a card game called, Hand & Foot. Man, those were some fun times! So, this year for Valentine's I surprised Jeff by making the crab dip. We served it with boiled shrimp, popcorn shrimp and marinated coleslaw (another family fav) . Both our kids love shrimp and was a great Valentine's Day Dinner followed by a few games at the local bowling alley!

Crab Dip
8 oz. flaked crab meat
8 oz. cream cheese
2 T. white cooking wine
1 T. lemon juice
2 T. mayonnaise
1 green onion, finely chopped
1/2 t. garlic powder
8 oz. cocktail sauce

Mix these together and serve with crackers.

Marinated Cole Slaw
1 c. vinegar
2 T. sugar
2 t. celery seed
1 c. wesson oil
1 T. salt
1 t. dry mustard
3 bags of shredded cabbage
1 onion, finely chopped
1 green pepper, finely chopped
1 c. sugar

Combine first 6 ingredients and heat to boiling point. Set aside. Mix the vegetables and cup of sugar. Add the liquid and put in refrigerator. Good as long as it lasts!

Thanks for sharing the recipes - they both sound wonderful! I'll try the coleslaw next time we smoke a brisket or a pork shoulder.

It will be a hit! I need to know Chance's secrets on smoking brisket or pork? Maybe you can post a pic of him and his receipe? Jeff got a smoker for Christmas and so far we've done ribs great but our brisket was not so great....he tried to cook it too fast I think.
