Puppy Days

1/2 Border Collie and 1/2 Blue and Red Heeler

Puppy Days are back at the Henry Household. A few months ago we started playing around with the idea of getting a new puppy. Brooke wanted one for her birthday or a bird or a fish or a Guinea pig....as if the horses are not enough...right....but I liked the idea. Callie is almost 11 years old and we are at a point in our life to take on the challenge of training a new pup! So, here she is...it was luck that we got her and we love her!

Brooke's Model Experience

We were proud to witness Brooke's first model experience at a Fashion Show Fundraiser. I think I had more fun getting her all dressed up. By the smile on her face you can see she was sure glad to be in the spot light!

She was told to walk back & forth across the stage while the announcer described the clothes she was wearing from Cavendar's. She loved them all and wanted to take them home! Good thing she has a birthday coming up...

Fashion Show

Sharon bought us tickets to a Fashion Show Friday night in Canyon. It's a fund raiser for Collegiate Cattlewomen at WT. So, we should see some fun & funky stuff! Here's Brooke, she will also get to model clothes from Cavendar's! Here's just a peek at one of the outfits I liked. They folded her wrangler jeans up and added zebra socks & turquoise Anderson Bean Boots. The tank top says, Cowgirl. Not sure of the bandanna but added a cute flair with the rope! We'll have fun and get lots of pics on Friday evening!

One of her other outfits included a Lime Green Tank Top (we used as a dress) with black tights and boots!

And last favorite of mine, were these brand new Anderson Bean Boots - Red Patent Leather with white hearts. We may have to get these!

Let's Play Ball

Well, it's not BASEBALL that we played...it was DOG-BALL with Callie. Brooke had a playdate with her friend, Addi, and they wanted to go in the field behind our house and throw the ball to Callie. Callie was in DOG HEAVEN....you wouldn't think she's almost 11 years old! Check out her "stylish" new Pink Camo Bandanna. The kids picked that out last weekend when we went to PETSMART to buy something for Callie. Brooke used her allowance! She wanted a Hamster but didn't have enough money...thank the lord! We settled for this! I just told her, maybe for her birthday but we may get a PUPPY....it's 1/2 border collie and 1/2 blue heeler. We had Lucy before our dog Callie so this dog would be the best of both dogs we've had the pleasure of owning. So, since it's the best of both worlds....we will name her MYLIE! Cross your fingers, we find out this weekend if we can have her, she was already spoken for but I told the kids to put on the tears and let them know how much we wanted her. She's free...and would just be great to have her to train around Callie. I don't think I'll ever have another dog like Callie, she's so smart, but would love to have Callie rub off on her a little while she's still around!

Miracle Cat

Barn cats are a dime a dozen so what does one do when they get ran over and left partially paralyzed? Many would've just put her down but my friend Amy kept her barn cat in a box and fed her for 2 months and the cat would meow for attention and was actually pretty happy. She just couldn't walk. Here she is 2 months later...walking?

She's back in the barn and enjoying life! Happy Easter.

DIAMOND

Our friend, Tara, let us try out her Barrel horse she's had since her Jr. year in High School. She went to college on a rodeo scholorship after winning the National High School Finals on this wonderful horse, Diamond. Here's our very first run on him and his first in 2 years. He has Navicular disease that makes him really sore but seemed very happy to be back in the arena! Their personalities really seem to click and hope we'll have more chances to ride him. Brooke had a blast!

Because I am Woman and not Man

I had a wonderful “fix my flat tire” day yesterday. Because I am WOMAN and not MAN, I was told I could not fix my flat because my tread was too low per “standards, regulations, etc.” I was told to get new tires “All terrain would look really nice on your truck Mrs. Henry at a price of $1500.00,” he said. Well, I am sure they would look nice at that price, what wouldn’t. So I called Jeff. He said, “Tell them to fix the tire or put on your spare because you will go somewhere else.” Well, the manager came over and said we recommend you either put on your spare or buy a new tire because this cannot be fixed. I basically had to go down the street to Firestone so they take off my spare and fix my flat and then put it back on. He said they fix nail flats all the time. THAT’s ALL IT WAS?

Oh, it gets better. Then, he told me, “Your hubcap is missing, you’ll have to go back to Discount”. Horrified and they were already closed, I went back and asked for my Hubcap. The manager told me that the Hubcap won't fit on the spare? “Well sir, I went somewhere else and had my tire fixed and need the Hubcap put on.” We found the Hubcap in my tire compartment behind my seat? Who knew?

After an hour & fourty minutes I finally was headed home. The night ended very well, we went out to eat at Chili's for dinner. We had the new dessert SHOTS! Yummy, Cinnamin Roll was our favorite!

Who needs sleep when you have Coffee

I made the mistake of watching movies until passed midnight. It started out watching Bambi II with the kids (that really was a cute show and was the first time we watched it after having the movie for like a year). After the kids went to bed I watched another movie (Grudge 2 - I like scary movies so I figured since I saw the first one it might be worth it....it really was not worth it but had some great scary moments). Well, I get the alarm clock of a 3 year old at 6:00 this morning - he was ready to watch Cartoons and eat Donuts. There's something wrong with Blaine - he wakes up (early early bird) and is automatically ready for Strawberry Milk and Breakfast. Not normal myself..once I'm up I cannot go back to sleep so, to keep me Up & Moving - I turned to Coffee. By 8:30 I've already had my 3rd cup.

The only Coffee I'll ever buy again comes from a company out of Tyler, TX. My friend Amy get's it Wholesale...so makes it about the price you'd buy flavored coffee at any grocery store.

Here's a list of some of my FAVS: (there's 85 to chose from)
Caramel Mudslide - rich chocolate and creamy caramel
Jamaican Me Crazy - a blend of kahlua, caramel and vanilla
White Satin - white chocolate fudge dusted in white powder
Jazzy Java - sweet caramelized brown sugar with creamy vanilla
Sinful Pleasures - maple and caramel (I could wear this it smells so good)

One's I'd like to try but haven't:
Dreamcicle - orange and vanilla create this delicious flavor
English Toffee - a scrumptious flavor of buttery caramel and chocolate nut
Gingerbread Spice - an intricate blend of creamy spices
Mellow Maple Cream - think of French Toast
Pumpkin Pie - creamy warm and mildly spicy....just like your grandmother made
Turtle Cheesecake - chocolate, caramel and pecan with a touch of cream
Yankee Doodle - just like a snickerdoodle cookie
